Next Step Project Volunteer 

Our Next Step project is free service for residents of Manchester aged 16+. There is a dedicated team of staff and volunteers that help someone take their ‘Next Step’, whether that be getting onto the right benefits, learning to use the computer, learning job related skills, looking for a job or using our support services. Our support services are: CV support, Universal Credit specialist, Housing advisor, Self Help (talking therapy and CBT). Volunteers can support in a variety of ways from welcoming service users, sign posting and supporting to fill in documents.

Job Club Volunteer 

Our Job Club is free service for residents of Manchester aged 16+. There is a dedicated team of staff and volunteers that support people to get back into work, change careers, start volunteering or . The team of volunteers support those who use the service to create and update their CV’s, search and apply for jobs and support people to sign up to courses and training to better their chances of getting a job.

Youth Can Do – Homework Club Volunteer

Youth Can Do homework club is a FREE project for children aged 8-16 which has evolved over the last 13 years.
Our team of staff and volunteers provide a safe, nurturing space for children to do their homework and to take
part in our various extra curricular projects. The Youth Can Do homework club project provides: support with
homework; support from a Math teacher, extra curricular workshops and projects. The role includes signing children up on their first visit, supporting with homework, support with reading and doing arts and crafts.

Diner Customer Service Volunteer 

The idea behind the Diner is to create a welcoming space for anyone to come to enjoy a freshly cooked meal, meet members of their community and find out what’s going on in the area. The Diner has a Level 5 Food Hygiene rating and is open to everyone in the community every Wednesday and Friday 12-2pm. All meals are £1 and there is a different meat (halal) dish, vegetarian dish cooked very week by our dedicated team. As a diner customer service volunteer you would support to set up the room for the diner,  welcome customers, take orders, make hot drinks and support with clean up after.

Diner Cook Volunteer 

Our kitchen has a Level 5 Food Hygiene rating and is open to everyone in the community every Wednesday and Friday 12-2pm. The kitchen offers two options each sessions which includes Halal and vegan/vegetarian. As a volunteer cook you would work alongside out chef who will train and support you in all aspects in the kitchen from opening checks, chopping, cooking, serving and closing checks.
